Made Fairly: Everything You Need To Know
A System That Will Revolutionize The Fashion Industry
What is Made Fairly?
The Made Fairly Index is a set of standards that allows garment workers to receive a minimum wage, minimum working standards, and a minimum set of benefits. In a world of fashion–which dictates much of our identity–it’s essential that we know what conditions our clothes are produced in.
How is it different from the current reforms?
Under the current ISO 9001 Textile Manufacturing reform, companies must fulfill certain requirements such as tracking customer satisfaction, detecting product defects, and following the standards of how products are conceived. However, there is a lack of attention to the workers in the industry. With Made Fairly, Noya Jibon ensures the quality of our clothing and honors the wellbeing of individuals at the forefront of our clothing production.
What is the plan to execute it?
Noya Jibon has begun development of our first garment factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh through our trusted parent company, Jibontex. At this factory, we will implement the Made Fairly Index when producing clothing in-house and 3rd party brands.
Our goal is to take direct control of our means of production and encourage other fashion brands and factories to do the same. Join us on our mission to Shift Fashion Forward.
